Key to Mozartland

A key is all it takes.
The mayor of our little town gave a key to Hélène and me. This key opens the School for Witchcraft and Music.
Whole rooms with a piano in each of them.
And one little concert room with a grand piano in it.
A key is all it takes.

Marvelous holidays. My arm and back are sore, but there's nothing better than a day spent with a piano to make you feel good.
This year will be a Mozart year. I'm working on the fantasy in C Minor (KV 475) - beautiful. It puts me in mind of a little opera or a theater piece. It does tell a story, and playing it will be a pleasure. Is already a pleasure, even if there's still a lot of work to be done.
The exciting piece of the year is Concerto 13, KV 415. I've never played with an orchestra. And the dream will come true ! I'm playing the first Allegro, a boy (or maybe our beloved teacher?) the Andante, and Hélène the third movement (allegro). I didn't listen to Mozart piano concertos before. Discovering them is a joy, playing a piece from one of them a greater joy even. *hums* This music haunts me. It's in all my dreams. Who bewitched me ?
After Christmas, my teacher wants me to play Chopin's 3rd Scherzo. And there's also a little piece of contemporary music I'd like to play. And...And...And so many pieces, and no time to work on them. Damn school. But for now, let's discover Mozart !

The School for Witchcraft and Music is a small one. It was once a sheepfold, that's why we call it 'la bergerie'. I love this place. And now I have the Key that opens its doors.
And I shall use it well.

    Mmm, Mozart. I love Mozart.

Passionate, moving, witty, fun, sombre, joyous, silly... within his music one can find the full range of emotions. :)

    Exactly :)
There is all of life in Mozart. Even 'silly'. *grin*

I always think of Mozart as a musical playwright.
