Piano party
Yesterday was Piano party night.
It's always a wonderful moment. But not as wonderful as my piano teacher.
We played on the grand piano, and some played violin and guitar. We sang. We rushed to offer presents to our beloved teacher. Then we stuffed ourselves with candies and the Lebanese taboule my Mum cooked. Afterwards there was some battle for the possession of the piano, but nobody got hurt. A little girl became a violin teacher for thirty minutes or so, and lent us her tiny violin. It was very funny : we pianists are no good with a violin under our fingers.
It's a shame I didn't play well. The Ravel went okay, but the Schumann and the Listz were a complete disaster. But all in all, it was a wonderful day.
I got home, read until I couldn't feel anything but weariness, wrote down some ideas about a new novel and went to sleep and dreamt about...Latin and music.
This little girl's called Rachel. She plays very well. While the others were either eating, running or talking, she 'composed' ad-lib - that's to say, she messed around with random keys. But it was music, not noise. I liked what she did a lot. She knows how to listen. Musical soul. She's an amazing wisp of a child.

The End - late in the night. The piano can rest peacefully. Adieu - til September !
